Our NEW Summer weight merino has all the warmth benefits that newborn babies need to regulate temperature, it's soft and ultra light-weight (in fact it only weighs 84 grams, compared with an average cotton wrap which weighs about 95 grams), so you get natural merino that is lite enough to layer with whatever you want; for example: during very warm Summer nights, you might like to wear just a singlet and nappy underneath your wrap, then as the temperature cools down, start adding a drawstring gown, or sleepsuit.
When putting together your basic checklist to help you and your baby get through the first 12-weeks this wrap is ideal for nighttime survival. It will see you through the first few tricky months when washing is not high on your list of priorities - and perfect to take to the hospital.
Try to forget everything you know about wool - when it comes to newborn babies MERINO WOOL is the only choice. It doesn't matter if it's the middle of Summer or the heart of winter, merino will work, like magic, to regulate your newborn's temperature.
Its a proven fact that babies loved to be swaddled/wrapped, and our beautifully designed pure merino fitted wrap makes easy work of it. Made from pure merino and uniquely designed to fit your baby from newborn to approx 3/4 months, they are the perfect start before you begin to think about sleeping bags or blankets. And the matching beanie is perfect for strolls outside (never sleep overnight in the beanie).
MERINO FITTED WRAP with FREE hat:
Our wrap sets is superior to all other wraps on the market because we have eliminated all the guess work and made it easy to use - even dads can wrap/swaddle like a pro. Simply slip your baby's feet into the body pocket and wrap the wings around your precious bundle. The super soft merino stretches to form a snug fit around your little one making them feel safe and warm - no folding, zips or Velcro required.
The extra wide body pocket allows for the natural hip movement, meaning the legs will naturally fall into the 'frog' position. This helps to prevent Hip Dysplasia.
Our knotted beanies will generally fit from newborn to approx 3/4 months old, and are designed to fit, so they don't fall down over babies eyes. Simply tie the knot to fit your baby's head and adjust the knot as they grow. The knotted hat are perfect for day time strolling and all out and about activities - just make sure you don't sleep your baby overnight in a hat (as they may overheat).
SUMMER weight (150-165grms) - This is equivalent to wearing COTTON, but with all the cooling benefits and the lightness of merino. Wear this during the hottest months of the year with a single layer of merino and nappy underneath. OR, this option is also ideal if you like to layer, for example in Spring and Autumn you would add a merino singlet or bodysuit underneath the drawstring gown or sleepsuit underneath, and then even have the option of adding a blanket over top.
STANDARD weight (170-190grms) - This is our all-year-round 365 days of the year merino. This is perfect for wearing without the need for extra layers. So you would ideally wear a drawstring gown or sleepsuit against newborn skin, and then the wrap over the top and you're done.
WINTER weight (200-230grms) - The ultimate in softness and warmth. Wear this weight in Autumn, Winter and Spring, with clothing alternations underneath, but it might be a little warm for the heat of Summer. This is also ideal if you have a prem baby with low body weight or an extra cool house. Wear it with merino drawstring gowns or sleepsuits, and add singlets and bodysuits as required. Make sure whatever you wear against the skin is merino.
Using the body pocket means they are already 80% wrapped before you even start, which means no feet escaping - ever. And because there is only one way to use them, you wrap them correctly each and every time. In fact they are so easy to use, even dad can do it!. And importantly, there is less chance of over heating, as you are not adding several layers of extra fabric around your baby to try and get a secure wrap.
"I wasn't sure about using merino wool for my baby, who was born in early December. However a friend told me that she used merino wraps for all her babies and gave me one to try. I didn't take it to the hospital, and they gave me a non-stretchy, rough cotton cloth to use, as soon as I got home I switched to your wrap, and never looked back. While I didn't buy my first one, I have certainly purchased many, many more since 2014 " Julie G Paterson - Sydney Australia
